Bypass grafting for blocked vessels in the limbs, and surgery for aneurysms of the aorta and the peripheral arteries.

Blocked peripheral vessels
- Patients with blocks in the peripheral vessels may require bypass grafting to bypass the blocks. We can use veins or artificial conduits.
Aneurysms
Aortic aneurysms and peripheral artery aneurysms.
- Three types in the abdomen and thorax: suprarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm, infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm, and thoracic abdominal aortic aneurysm
- In the chest: ascending aortic aneurysm, aortic arch aneurysm, and descending thoracic aneurysm
These are complex operations with a slightly higher mortality rate of approximately 5–10%.
May have to be done as an emergency operation, and may require multiple blood transfusions.
