Thoracic and lung surgery
Surgery of the lungs and the chest, alongside the cardiac work this department is better known for.
- Lung surgeries — lobectomies, and pneumonectomy where the whole lung is removed
- Decortication — removal of the covering of the lungs, called the pleura
- Bullectomies — removal of balloon dilation of the lung spaces
Safe surgeries. May require a hospital stay of up to a week or ten days.
